Odds have dropped on Luke Williams.

Stoke strongly rumoured to be getting in Robins.

Lepko said on the Liquidator podcast that Lee Carsley has family issues which mean he doesn't want a club football role.

Robbins seems a good fit for Stoke, tbf.

I really like the idea of Luke Williams for us. I hope it gets done. Out of all the names linked, he's the one I'd really want out of the lot.

The issue is, are we a bigger pull than Swansea? I don't see any reason why he'd move. We have similar goals, budgets (I'm assuming a little there) and are similar sized clubs. It'd be a sidewards move for him.

Luke Williams? It will be Buckley all over again. Backwards and square, boring as fuck. No thank you.

I watched Notts County a handful of times under his management and it wasn't boring football at all. Far from sideways and backwards (well, nothing more than the usual trend, anyway).

Big Sam's available again?

Different league, different requirements. Lets face it, we are going to be in this division now for a few seasons. Let's at least have some entertainment. We don't need Russ Martin's ex Assistant.

RE: The managerial shortlist - Josh1873 - 12-31-2024

I think in 5 years time Luke Williams will be in more demand than Russell Martin.

He was assistant a number of years ago, but has since gone onto manage successfully at two different clubs. I'm not so sure what the issue would be?

There's absolutely no need for the arrogance being shown towards linked candidates.

RE: The managerial shortlist - Lurker#3 - 12-31-2024

If it is to be Luke Williams, I would have very few issues. A good, experienced coach firstly. Heavily data driven mentality, enjoys one and on coaching and values the small details.

Oh and for those worried he's a Martin mkII... Swansea have attempted the 5th most long passes this year. So you'd needn't be worried my little petals.

RE: The managerial shortlist - Squid - 12-31-2024

Williams sounds alright to me.

It just all seems to have gone very quiet. Neither the ITKs, nor the Perce are saying much.

This leads me to suspect that we are looking at someone currently employed, hence there might be financial wrangling involved.

Could just be that everyone's out on the lash for New Year??

In the words of a Swansea fan on one of their forums:

Bigger club, bigger salary, bigger transfer kitty, better chance of top 6, he'll be off.

RE: The managerial shortlist - ColliersWoodBaggie - 01-01-2025

The bloke at Liverpool whispered in my ear; “ Boing Boing you beauties, we’re catching Leeds by May”.

Make of that what you will.
