The doctors are asking for the length of time to be shortened to six weeks. The WHO don’t recommend what we are doing, no other country as far as I’m aware are following our path and the makers of the vaccine state not to extend the recommended period for the second vaccine. It’s a questionable strategy only time will tell if it was the correct decision.

I just think the outcry is way OTT Derek. I know you don't like the tories but let's be honest whoever was in charge it would be a thankless task and a no win situation that's why I'm a bit easy on them.... The only thing I'm really annoyed at is when they fucked up the care homes Hancock should have resigned on that alone...... Hope you're well Derek whatever our differences on things in life I think your a decent bloke with good values...... Even if you love pulis 0))))))

I see that the Libertarian numpties (I’m being VERY polite) on the Conservative back benches (grown adults who are acting like stroppy teenagers / toddlers) are demanding easing of lockdown when we shall probably go past 100k deaths this week. The NHS is facing the highest number of people in intensive care I believe ever at one time and we have one of the worst death rates in the World! Grow up, and stop pretending you care about the most vulnerable!

You seem to have forgotten the campaigns to go back to work by the government, the eat out to help out scheme and half the party wanting to ease lockdown. Not to mention go back to school it’s safe.. no testing, no extra space for pupils etc.

Wouldn't worry about it, the three likely scenarios are that the German politician who leaked it has misunderstood data from the EMA (not understanding what lower bounds are), is mixing up the numbers tested with the efficacy rate (8.25% of those tested in the Oxford trial were over 65) or is being a twat (deliberately using the lower bound to make the vaccine look bad). The EMA decision is being made on Friday and we'll have a better understanding of things then, I'd imagine they may be cautious for use on over 65s with a preference to the other vaccines while promoting it for under 65s.
More concerning is the EU putting pressure on Pfizer and Moderna to notify all deliveries outside the EU to third countries (now the UK) with a view to withholding deliveries as a result of AZ apparently moving significant quantities of the EU stockpiles of their vaccine made in Belgium to the UK resulting in a shortage of the AZ vaccine in the EU. Now if Sturgeon wasn't a moron and hadn't leaked the UK vaccine strategy this wouldn't be happening.
