RE: UK Covid death toll - Tom Joad - 12-11-2020 Fair comment, Nick. I could name a few I suspect wouldn't have been overly careful either. But if I can think of them then so should the plod. My point is that the ones I've used have gone overboard to put the safety measures in and don't deserve to risk their livelihoods when there is clearly more danger of picking up the bug in B and M or Aldi. As ever, sadly, it is an easier option to take the sledgehammer to crack the nut. RE: UK Covid death toll - The liquidator - 12-12-2020 Same by us in Oldbury some are very safe others it just gets worst by the hour and by 9pm its no fucks given..... Should have cracked down on the flouters and left the good ones open..... Then the flouters will just go to the decent pubs. RE: UK Covid death toll - Protheroe - 12-12-2020 Interesting that the only part of the UK that went for Keir's "Firebreak Lockdown" is now facing the tightest restrictions. It'll be a real test of this government's remaining mettle if they opt to put London into Tier 3, or not. Obsessed Try and move the narrative without the facts again. If we’d have used the firebreak when he said we’d have been in a better position clearly, I can’t be arsed to explain it to you again. It’s always just a temporary measure to keep numbers down because, and pay attention now, the virus doesn’t go away unless you lockdown fully. Nobody wants that so we’ll keep the local approach to minimise it until vaccination. Rome is burning and your focus is who’s fiddle playing is better. My conclusion is that none of them have a fiddle. And there were plenty on here screaming for St Keir's Firebreak. Read again, the timing is the main point - Johnson has called it late twice now, once could be forgiven, the second time is criminal and shows how much power the morons in the party hold. Hindsight is the only exact science in the world. It wasn’t hindsight what a load of nonsense. It wasn't hindsight and a complete amateur like myself could see hospitalisations rising and could predict what was going to happen and here we are, Johnson knew from August onwards what the scientists were saying and left it until November to do something. This following him knowing what was happening at the start of the crisis and publicly proclaiming that he was still shaking hands and allowed mass gatherings to go ahead is simply allowing people to die through not doing anything when he knows that will happen - criminal. He not just didn't learn from his mistakes, he ignored and repeated them. This is simple and if you haven't grasped it by know you are a moron - this virus spreads through contact, we can reduce that contact through lockdowns, firebreaks, whatever you want to call it, but you can't stop it entirely - no hindsight, just common sense. Until we have another solution up and running we have no choice but to continue to do that. After a fucking appalling year full of Tory's filling their pockets instead of solving the crisis we have a few weeks to continue to do that until we have the vaccine delivered, but you still keep on wingeing about letting people do what they want, lo and behold as soon as we do that the virus spreads and affects more people in more ways that just the death stats. And throughout this you want to distract and say Starmer's solution didn't work - You're are showing what a dick you are, stick to giving predictions on gold. RE: UK Covid death toll - baggy1 - 12-13-2020 Something to read on why lockdown helps the economy and keeps infections and deaths down. Times article |
