Just finishing will be a PB as I’ve never ran one before!

In terms of time I’m trying not to get too hung up on it. I can run a half in under 2 hours and have been doing 20 in about 3 and a half. Based on that a rough target of 4.30-4.45 seems doable.

They say double your average half marathon time plus 30 minutes. Of course, all that depends on your training and how its gone plus the conditions on the day. Last year for example just made things a hell of a lot harder with the high temperatures and humidity.

Let me know your Bib number so I can track you, I'll be tracking a few of my running club and other firiends.

Hard work is doen now though mate, you're probably at the time now where you are looking forward to just running those 26.2 miles and this is the only time you'll ever look forward to it. As I've said before, its a marvellous event, the crowds are better than anywhere else I've ever run so enjoy of it what you can and don't try breaking any records, keep it sensible and you'll be just fine (after a few days anyway).

Ha I drank the smallest bottle of water at the start line and went for a piss 3 times from it, its normal for your first one. Plenty of water this week to keep you hydrated and a few days or carb loading up until Thursday will see you fine now. Just keep on top of everything and relax, the hard work is done.

Biggest challenge is staying away from the mountain of chocolate that has piled up in our flat.

Best of luck, hope it's not too hot on the day. Not sure what the forecast is, but some light rain would be preferable. It was a scorching day last year wasn't it? 4.30 would be a really good time for a first attempt, hope you manage it.

Cheers, forecast is looking perfect. 12-14 degrees with some light rain.

RE: Running Clique - Midget In A Pinstripe Suit - 01-09-2022

Right I’m back in business after a brief hiatus, but am having issues with blisters. Same place every time on my front arches. I know I need to get my gait measured and I can get some more synthetic socks, but in the short term I can’t wait for them to heal entirely. So will a combo of decent plasters and tape be sufficient? Looking to put an Amazon order in ASAP so I can keep my 3 x 5k a week going. TIA.

RE: Running Clique - Supamart - 01-09-2022

My running shoes are in the hall, waiting for tomorrow morning in preparation for the Brum half, then hopefully a race slightly more exotic.

RE: Running Clique - Duffers - 01-09-2022

Hoping to finally get out tomorrow after a couple of weeks out with a bad ankle.
