Contract talks at stalemate with his reps according to the Mail.

Looks like we'll have to sell in Jan to recoup a decent fee for him?
Ziz says he’ll sign!

He is a decent player for his age but he isnt the messiah, gave plenty of free kicks and fouls away again over the weekend.

is a solid defender and good athlete , average going forward. If he wont sign and we get 10 mill for him ( which is still mainly potential) then so be it, he would be wrong to move at this point in his development chasing the cash...

Furlong has proved just as effective to me and better going forward...

It would be a shame as he is 'one of our own ' , but would there be such a drama if he wasn't i wonder??

He's a fuggin great player for his age. Every single defender in the PL gives away needless free-kicks at some point. It'll be a crying shame if a deal isn't nailed down IMVHO onions.
It is a total non story in The Mail. I think we've all worked out the the two parties are at stalemate and there is no new news in the story at all.

I'm hoping we go back and pull out all the stops and give him a bumper deal as he's worth it and in the long term we could make some serious cash. I suppose on the flip side the club would look at what has happened to Harper since he signed his big deal and seemingly gone backwards and be wary. I think they are two different characters though and I think Ferguson would be unaffected.
Needs to look at Izzy, Dhanda and co before being lured by the filthy lucre.
It’s a difficult one as seemingly with every game his stock rises. It’s a deal which I hope we can reach as not only would we be protecting an asset nurtured here, but the message it sends to the rest of the Academy prospects breeds desire.

IMO Furlong's defensive abilities are being masked by his ability to go forwards. He's a good player but has poor positioning and a tendency to leave us exposed relatively frequently. If we went up to the Prem I think Furlong would get destroyed honestly.
Why would a premiership club want to buy him in January, when they could wait till the summer and potentially get an even better deal.
