has passed away
Sick with dementia for many years. Funnily out with a Villa lad and just broke the news to him. Great manager, but rubbish by the time he came to us and set us on the spiral to the misery of the 90s.

I was at Leeds in '87 when we were willing them to score to get him sacked - Sherian scored a 25 yarder and we celebrated - goodbye to Saunders.

RIP to the man though - he suffered in later years.
RIP Ron Saunders
RIP Ron
RIP.
Still goes down as the worst ever Albion manager for me. His tenure as manager the darkest time for me as an Albion fan.

And Big Rom returned on the Friday.
RIP Ron, shame you were a bl**dy awful manager by the time you for to us.
RIP but essentially the manager who bridged the gap between division one (as was) regulars and our spectacular fall from grace. Remember us losing 4 3 at home to Ipswich in (I think) September 87. A little known player called Steve Bull scored twice, was sold a week or so later and then disappeared, never to be heard of again*
