Sawyers was clearly the best player on the pitch.

All good passers of the ball have a quality that is often overlooked - their ability to get into positions to make themselves available to receive a pass, if you don't get the ball you can't pass it.

All the other players know that more often that not if they have possession of the ball, Sawyers will given them a good option to pass it.
He's a joy to watch, and always seems to have time on the ball. He makes us tick at the base of the midfield, but we're by no means a one man team, as we look comfortable throughout the team. Every game, we've had spells where we've played some lovely stuff, but still a long way to go.
Classy.
MOTM by a mile. Absolute class, totally dictated the play and that pass - half volley, outside of right boot - wow!
Brilliant spreader of the ball.

Unreal pass. Move deserved a goal
Classy for sure but put us under pressure unnecessarily quite a few times with over hit balls, miss placed passes and Hollywood balls. Overall he was good but not MOTN for me.

Thought he made some very ropey decisions that we got away with... sometimes passed a bit too much in his own area.

Thought Grady and Ajayi were outstanding.

Sawyers was excellent in the last 30 mins. Less so in the first 60. Ajayi or Bartley the best 2 for me. Phillip's did well too.
'The supreme rulers are hardly known by their subjects....' Tao te Ching ;-)

Sawyers does not need to look as busy as some other players as he is ahead of things. He looks relaxed as he is not busting a gut to amend a fuck up.

Eh? If you check his stats I think you'll find he miss places or overhits passes less than any other player on the pitch most weeks! Victim of his own ability, any poor ball gets jumped on.

I think this is it.

I don’t disagree that Sawyers had a very good game, and some of his passing was sensational, but today there were occasions I felt he made the wrong choice, and times he needlessly played us into trouble. We gave them a lot of space in the middle again, and a better side would have found more troublesome passes.

He was still a class act, but thought Ajayi, Bartley and Phillips were all a cut above.
