Now the dust has settled a little it really is frustrating to look back.Sometimes in tight matches it is the small details that can cost you.Like it or not but we lost our discipline and I think this was the main reason we're out going to Wembley.I thought tactically we outsmarted Villa in both games but lost through players losing there cool.Yes we may have been hard done to at Villa Park with some decisions but go back a few games when Hegazi threw a strop at being substituted then we had Kanu at Derby.I turned to my lad the other night when both Johansson and Brunt got booked and mentioned that I feared the worst. As it happened my fears came to fruition and so we only have ourselves to blame. What I would say does anybody think having an  experienced manager that this ill discipline would not of happened?Loved the atmosphere on the night and it can only encourage more fans to come back.
Don't look back in anger

Things can only get better

The only way is up

Well I suppose the facts speak for themselves and we've had 3 Red Cards in as many games. Without wanting to make excuses though, villa are a very infuriating side. Every foul they surround the ref. Just witness the carnage when Leeds dared to score against them! Derby are a little similar and it'll no doubt be a difficult final to referee. Back to Albion though, I agree, a more experienced manager may have talked this through with the players.

As a 'temporary' manager he's at a disadvantage. The players know that no matter what he says he won't be there in a few weeks and they'll all have a clean slate with the next manager. They can more or less do what they want.

Remember that substitute teacher you gave shit to at school? That's Shan!
Heaps of tiny things add to the shite of the season.
To me, I think we had the players but the farting around at the back cost us. I honestly believe we would have got top 2 if we hadn't kept this infuriating tippy tappy stuff, which is not designed for 6ft 4 no nonsense centre halves.
Look at how Bartley has improved now he is not being asked to be Beckenbauer.

Imho the job of a centre half is to head, kick, tackle and bully the opposing forwards not play 40yrd killer fuggin passes or dribble out passed players like your Messi FFS. Their job is to stop the ball going in our nett.

Word for word what I said recently to someone. Agreed.
Gayle was going for the ball, Brunt was compensating for not really being a central midfielder. HRK was stupid.

Brunt also put into that situation by our otherwise excellent centre half trying a fucking ridiculous Cruyff turn 25 yards  from our goal when getting a call to get rid, which was actually a far less disciplined act than Brunt's reactive lunge.

Spot on. Do all that and give it short to a ball playing defensive midfielder like Field or Barry etc to pick a pass.

Simple really.

The Jones tactics were our downfall this season imo. If BD had continued the fine job he did at the end of the Prem season and kept Shan as his assistant I think we would have faired better. Alas we'll never know.
