I read on the Oatcake that he played up front today. Interesting choice
We're on plan Z with just about everything at the moment.

He'll never be accepted by a large proportion, maybe a majority of our supporters, but there is a grudging acknowledgement that he's one of the few who look like he gives a toss.
Gives a toss doesn't equalise any good unfortunately DK, as I'm sure you're aware!

I just can't think of a worse position on the pitch for him.

Other than possibly at centre back

In goal? He'd be headbutting the centre halves after 5 minutes.

None of the feckers are doing what they should, but I'm more inclined to be supportive of someone who's at least trying.

He came on as sub against Leeds in that position, and actually caused them all sorts of problems. That's why it was tried today.
On paper you actually have striking talent in your squad, at least there was apparently some logic to it.

I was never one to slag off McClean and agree that it's good to at least see someone who gives a toss......

........but Jones playing him up front is really bizarre, even if he caused some issues in a previous game. He's not an attacking force and when things do click for him his strength is running from deep

From comments he's made, I think Jones sees himself as someone who can coach players into new positions. I suspect he's also already reached a point of utter frustration with our other strikers that he'll play someone out of position to let the others know they're not performing as he wants them to.
