Really not sure what their owners expect… surely there has to be a point at which they realise the CL is a closed shop.
Only thing I can think is that like a lot of American investors they think the PL is hugely undervalued compared to US sports and they feel there’s money to be made increasing the Villa brand with a view to selling on once they’ve had a couple years in the PL… but they’ve invested several hundred million already, with Newcastle valued at £350m I’m not sure where they go
