The only way anyone could slate the club if that pro contract has not been offered and at this moment in time we don’t have a clue, only the directors and management will know what’s happening. But to be honest would you unless you totally loved the clue sign if a big European club came calling.

Agree. We can barely find the cash to attract decent first team players so no way we are going to dish out lucrative contracts to kids with little more than potential. Certainly not lucrative enough to fend off the likes of Bayern etc.
It's the system that's corrupt. There should be a right and proper compensation package, to account for the years invested in these kids, regardless of whether they sign a contract or not. As it is, the big guns can pick and choose who they want without any financial recompense. It's like fishing with a net rather than a rod, scoop up the lot, pick the ones you like and throw the rest back. All without having to pay for a fishing licence.

I think the Jude Bellingham situation changed peoples views on this. If you're good enough the big clubs will come calling, and pay the club that nurtured you good money for you. IF you have signed a contract.
Bellingham was a once in a generation for a club like Blues, I'm sure they have lost their share of kids, with potential, because they couldn't take the risk of offering them a contract.
We need to stop blaming the club and contest the fact that the system is rigged in favour of the bigger clubs.
It's not just a poor system, it's a corrupt one.

Gray and Redmond have done well, they have tended to give their kids a go
They are now 25 and 27 though so that's still only 3 in a fair old space of time. We've had Berahino, O'Shea and even Izzy Brown in the same timeframe, so maybe we're not too shabby either, when the player has genuine potential.
The point is most kids don't make it, even the ones that the likes of Man City etc., reportedly, cast their eye over, so we can't dish out big contracts at that early an age. The system then allows bigger clubs to take advantage, because they can pay the money even if the player doesn't reach his potential. It's deliberately rigged in their favour to try and ensure that the best English youngsters end up at the cash cow clubs.
