Prior to Toon AMN had been getting better with every game imo. Even against Newcastle he had a decent game but his decision making and final ball sometimes leaves you a bit miffed. This could all be down to him learning a new position. After all he was the one that stipulated he wanted to be a midfielder.
He will most certainly go on and have a decent Prem career but he has a fair bit to work on if he wants to be a permenant central midfielder imo. And definitely if he wants to play for England there.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up next season and in what position.

This West Brom News bollocks is unremittingly critical of Sam Allardyce. It's slagged AM-N off since he arrived. It slagged Matt Phillips off for his apparently poor performance against Newcastle. The legend Kevin Phillips is apparently their "exclusive columnist". I didn't have him weighed up as a complete twat, but you live and learn.

The blokes been here 5 mins and your giving him unjustified stick, I thought us baggie fans were better than that but obviously not. Ok his end product has not been good as yet but he’s still getting used to the players, he has played well in most matches and he gets around the pitch.

Last season many on here were saying our players will be better suited to the prem. Be interesting to have a look at the thread for final league positions. I recall some who took offence by my comment that we “limped over the line” to get prompted. Oh, and we were impacted by Covid (even though our form was dipping beforehand). Some people just don’t like others being critical if they don’t see it that way.

Furthermore, when we are actually doing well, said individuals are silent.
That is what people object to.

Not sure what everyone was expecting he's been sent here to continue his development. If he was the finished article he certainly wouldn't be playing for us

Well I certainly don’t take any glee in pointing out how bad things are. I also said I didn’t agree with the comment from Bilic that the players deserve a chance in the PL as this attitude failed with Megson and it’s failed again.
I did say that with the minimal transfer budget we had I’d rather we had a club to support in the future rather than spunk it on players to try and stay in the prem.
I was critical of SJ but now he is our best players along with Bartley, who again I slated in the past. I say what I see and the fact we are 2nd bottom with an embarrassing goals against I think my comments stand up.

Come on FF putting up a link to West Brom we're a fanzine really West Brom News doesn't prove your point and it just seems like any excuse by some to criticise the current manager. Anybody with an ounce of common sense could see that our squad wasn't good enough to stay up. Since we have introduced the new signings we have at least competed in most matches and that's all that counts rather than base opinion on ludicrous XG or whatever the new wanky terms are for judging a player by a binary points system. Not every young loan player is going to have the same impact as Lukaku, or Harvey Barnes. To prove a point about stats... I think but could be wrong that you could argue that Lukaku had a negative influence on the team in terms of points we accrued when he was playing. So he must have been shite for us!
