Now there's somebody who should definitely have a commemorative statue, not least for raising the profile and status of mountain rescue.

an incredible guy who lived an incredible life. I haven't seen the film unfortunately as iPlayer is hit and miss over here with the VPN but I'll try to catch it. I've been in the unfortunate position of seeing the work of Scottish Mountain rescue up close (never for myself thankfully) a few times and the idea that we might be without them if not for Hamish is unthinkable!
