We got promoted with no momentum as we stumbled over the line in the second half of the season. We potentially looked a Premier League team in the first half of last season, so we need to get back to that.

This team is fragile mentally. It’s been the case for a number of years. We don’t react well to negative situations.

I don’t know whether it’s just an actual club thing and we lack “leaders”. Your Scharners, Your Olsson’s etc

And yet we've won 52 points from losing positions in the last 2 seasons (according to stat flashed up during the game).

Tactics were all wrong yesterday (first time playing back 3), then we had nothing (at this level) on the bench to improve matters, unlike last season.

This.

But how?
A chelsea fan years ago told me the team that wins the championship on a high, and the team that tends to have a great run in the playoffs and gets promoted are the teams that tends to play well in the prem for the first season.

Lets face it we were very fortunate in the end that Brentford bottled it and we have the same team who I feel lack confidence in themselves, though I think that lack of confidence may be the fact we havent got a decent striker.

You mean, ignoring all the times we won or drew after being behind last season? that sort of long term fragility in the face of negative situations!?

We do lack a true captain though, Livermore just does not do it for me, which I know is an unpopular view on here. I just can't see him grabbing a game by the scruff of its neck and getting everyone up for it.

Because we started last season with no expectations, no fear and no pressure. This squad cannot handle pressure is what it seems to be.

Err in the end we handled it better than 22 other clubs. We came from behind many times that was basically playing under pressure.

Can't level that at the team. Don't think the team bought in to the formation and once the first goal went in because their experience in playing that formation was limited they didn't have the nouse to change the impetus of the game.

SS how come we've won 52 points in the last two seasons when coming from behind?
Might not be a popular view but I think part of our early season form last year was due to the emergence of Ferguson. He played with lots of energy and assurance.

We obviously, as above shows aren't that fragile on the whole. The Championship is incredibly tough and although we stumbled over the line we got there- we were successful.
The thing is though we played with a different system v a team on a different planet to those we have played in the last two seasons, that's 92 games of teams much of a muchness.
A very strong Prem team imposed themselves on us we didn't have a system or the personnel to come out with a plan B.
Remember Leicester have won the title a few years ago and sold the likes of Mahrez, Kante and Chilwell for a fortune. Most of their players have transfer fees and wages to match the club they are now.
For us, the Mowbray term artists and soldiers is apt and we do need know how and steel. Maybe Ivanovic will bring a bit of that.
Only 6 or 7 of our side yesterday are Prem players, we could survive with a bit of luck and 2 or 3 additions, but we desperately need new faces and if we can get another Odemwingie then we could even do better.
I'm no more or less hopeful than I was 24 hours ago.

I don't believe we have enough warriors in our side. Even Jakes not the most vocal and he's our captain!

Ivanovic will help in this regard and he'll clatter people. Gallagher also loves a challenge.

We need more of this sort of player. Ones that like a good battle. Get Hegazi in for Bartley too.
