So true. It's my observations, and only that, but the only real pressure to release the lockdown is coming from the press. (Aided and abetted by the first ministers of Wales and Scotland who appear to be attempting to pre empt the government in any direction to make themselves appear more important than they are).
Most people I know seem to accept we are not ready for a huge change just yet. I think we may see a very, very slight release of the lockdown this coming week, plus maybe an idea of the next increment, but a full release won't happen in one go nor for a good few months.

Not quite just the media Tom, recycling centres are being forced to reopen because of all the instances of fly tipping, so an awful lot of people don't care about the results of their actions.

Bloody expensive day out, anyone that does a 500 mile round trip in a day needs their head testing  Big Grin

Phew. What a relief.

I read your thread title and feared someone was having a hand shandy on the motorway again.

True, Cornish, but re opening them could be seen as part of a measured way out of lockdown. It should be fairly straightforward to "police" the public at a recycling centre.

Tbh, I don't understand why recycling centres were closed. Probably quite easy to enforce social distancing there.

It was simply because of non essential journeys and to allow the staff of the centres to be redeployed elsewhere to make sure waste collections and disposal isn't interrupted.

Not sure ur we are in lock down me and the wife just had a hours walk around streets of wednesbury hydes Rd, Millfields, Friar Park village, brunswick Park and Church Hill and the amount of bloody traffic on the roads seems almost like a normal fuggin sat they can't all be essential journeys FFS, this do called lock down seems to be getting less and less and I think we will ultimately suffer further down the line for it not being strict enough but that's just my opinion.

A rubbish decision.

Couldn't the council take on new staff?

According to the public survey / poll mentioned on the BBC this morning the majority of people are in favour. In fact many are reluctant to come out of lockdown at present.
The constant push from the media is irresponsible. No doubt driven by some of their mates in business.
Massive not-so-hidden agenda!
