Looks like Netherlands are finishing there’s also. With leagues 1 and 2 wanting things sorted soon because of finances, I doubt they will play again this season. I still think we will see all our leagues + Premiership finish soon it’s getting to expensive to keep going much longer. Can the likes of Luton, Charlton, Millwall and others keep forking out with no incoming I doubt it . It’s the same in the premiership clubs will get into financial difficulty a lot of clubs were already in trouble before lockdown, now every week that goes by will only make things worse with no income coming into clubs.
House of cards. Every league will go the same way IMO. The only issue - and it's a big one - is how the leagues will finish. There are more vested interests than you can shake a stick at so it's political and messy. If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say they'll opt for not voiding the season but applying a points per game model. This may also revive earlier arguments for promoting those in auto positions but not relegating anyone. It'll be interesting to see what the National League decide to do as it'll set a precedent. Voiding entirely is something we'd obviously want to avoid!

Quite right, this was always going to be the case. For those of us blessed with common sense anyway.
Postponing the season end and starts are ridiculous, people who say such things have not thought of anything.
According to some? we next year we could be playing the end of this season, while playing the European Championships along with the Olympics and the World Cup qualifiers. All while being bankrupt and half the countries in lockdown.
The leagues will have to be rejigged with several clubs either folding or returning to semi-pro or amateur status.
All my own opinion of course but I said that as soon as the lockdown was announced and if anything the finance's have
become weaker players contracts are now exposed and nobody wants to pump any cash into an industry that has in all
reality been closed until further notice. Players and clubs values are all on the way down. Sad times, but compared to what
the NHS staff are going through and people who have lost loved ones it's nothing IMHO. SAFETY FIRST.
I have it on good authority that the teams in League 2 are lobbying the EFL for cancellation and there is a belief that two thirds of League One would support it. Obviously cancellation and voiding are two different things so if the first happens, the latter doesn't necessarily follow.

Stopping the league though doesn't mean football can return any earlier than if you don't stop it.
The legal fallout and wrangling in the event of voiding would carry on for years, will be interesting to see how they untangle all of this.
At least though with average points per game/goal difference and the large majority of the season is done you have evidence to say which where those teams in that position when the season ended. All the rest is conjecture and subjective and there' no silver bullet for timings for re-starting next season etc. Rose-tinters aside I'm not really sure if there is any other way. Let's face it, an August start for 20-21 is not looking that promising as it stands.

If they do stop it then probably PPG is the least unfair way to go*.

* assuming Villa go down using this method
Great chance to change the whole format of the leagues.
IMO 2 divisions 40 clubs in each - 4 up 4 down. Only 1 game home or away.
Spread the cash, spread the interest and bring the Home internationals back.
Reduce European club games to a few games not endless knock outs.
Lot of chances to change things, embrace the chance to turn things around.
