It certainly isnt good, but 8-12 weeks lockdown can get on top of it, based on other countries. Say it quietly, but new cases in Italy are reversing after 1 month lockdown. The key is to open back up slowly.

In other great news, Disney World is taking bookings from 1st Jube, so the Yanks have it cracked  Sad

While we are going to have to do what we have to do. Why no talk of testing? It's the best way to get on top of this thing.

Those with immunity can get on with doing whatever they can, carriers can be isolated and those that have not been exposed will know they need to be extra careful and respond as required.

The government while doing a good job are not focusing enough on testing. They need to invest everything they can on this IMO.

No, they're not. Although that will probably be the headline in the Daily Mail tomorrow.

Self testing for anti bodies will be the game changer, in my opinion

If we’ve learned anything from this, it’s that a large portion of the population can’t be trusted to do what they’re asked to. Do we really think these people will self test?

I take two lessons from this. Firstly, too few people have the financial resources to ward off a longer crisis. Things can, and apparently do go very wrong at times, so it's up to us to build something more resilient--both for ourselves and definitely for the community. Secondly, some of the powers that government necessarily has accrued in a crisis might be difficult to pull back.

This is a big worry, but also other measures they may try and push through after all this is over, all under the guise of “protecting us” from an event like this happening again.
