Just back - thoughts for today!

Organisation won us yesterday-there's more than one way to skin a cat... Tony just prefers his way.

I'd agree about Chadli if he hadn't virtually disappeared after the first couple of months.

It's generally a flash of brilliance which can often win you the fixture, all sides need em!

Several games it was like playing with ten men as he went missing in action or inaction.

...and why they probably wont ever achieve much more?

We won't anyway regardless of flicks and tricks.

Great to get up there and enjoy a positive winning start after all the rubbish served up in the last quarter and the negativity of preseason.
Unlike online, the atmosphere in the pre match Sun and during the match was generally upbeat.
First was excellent and the one nil half time flattered Bournemouth with Rodrequez a revelation ( only spoilt by some good stops by the keeper).
Second we seemed happy to sit back which was disappointing but the Cherries looked very tippy tappy and still likely to concede.
Hegazi was a revelation and Dawson superb at the back meaning Foster had little to do.
Always a massive lift to get that first win in game one and takes the pressure off the transfer talk a little, though we still need 4-5 in plus any replacement s if any players leave.
Good to have a near sell out in the him ends to.
All in all the day was about supporting our club into the start of a new season - all the happy smiling faces heading out of the ground was a joy in itself!
Boing Boing !!!

Would you prefer we carry players for the odd flash of brilliance?

Haven't said that at all.

Simply that TP struggles to integrate the type of players you need to push on for 50+ points. We will never bring the best out of Chadli whilst TP is in charge.

No need to get defensive over TP... His methods mean McClean can be a PL footballer.

The trick with flashes of brilliance is to not get blinded by them.

I'm not defensive-I'm pretty apathetic about it all. We would have got 50+ points of either Rondon could have converted a few of his sitters or we had a bigger squad.

As SW4 says above, for us to kick on as a team we need to incorporate better footballers into a system which works and enables us to play better and create more

You need the Chadli's of the world to make that happen, the challenge is for the manager to get a system where it works

So did Tottenham get the best out of Chadli? The best out of Chadli means he is sometimes great and a lot of time anonymous. His tenure at Tottenham bears this out as does the reason we could attract and afford him.
