Think Phillips is just a squad player now got a few goals and assists but his overall play is quite poor at the moment

Who have we got on the right who's a better player than him exactly? On form he's unplayable. He's joint top scorer on 7 goals!

Johnstone - 8 - made some very smart saves and kept us in it at the start.

Ferguson - 6 - defensively sound, but really struggled going forward. That pass out for a throw at the e d summed up an indifferent afternoon.
Ajayi - 7 - very poor first half, made numerous mistakes but stepped up after the break and was back to his best
Bartley - 8 - very good first half, and will be a really big loss in the coming weeks if his injury is bad. He looked ok coming out the tunnel after going off so hopefully just precautionary.
Furlong - 7 - excellent header for the goal, but was left wanting defensively.

Sawyers - 5 - his worst game since joining. Was lethargic, easily closed down and gave possession away 3x in very dangerous positions.
Livermore - 8 MOTM - not that he had much competition for the accolade, but thought he really pushed us on today and delivered the archetypal captain’s performance.

Phillips - 6 - looked leggy and whilst he cant be faulted for effort, it just wasn’t coming off for him today.
Periera - 7 - Brentford closed him down, and with the fullbacks not getting forward due to their 343 system, he was kept relatively quiet. Couple moments of class but couldn’t get into the game.
Edwards - 5 - he should not be starting games. Doesn’t cross and makes too many silly decisions. Thought the crowd were very harsh when he didn’t chase down a bouncing ball in the box.

HRK - 7.5 - industrious but showed the strengths and weaknesses to his game. He was easily handled by Brentford’s defence, but didn’t stop going and held the ball up well.

O’shea - 7 impressive cameo, thought he looked capable at this level.
Austin - 6 - not sure if he touched the ball other than the “goal” - Shame he just crept offside.
Krovinovic - 6.5 - injected some much needed energy, but takes too many touches in the build up. Did what he was brought on to do and very nearly set up a winner.

Slav - 7 - his subs very nearly won the game, and tweaks at HT got us back into the game. We could have won despite being below our best again.

Pretty much agree with these. I wouldn't be too harsh on Edwards. Young players and wingers will always be prone to being inconsistent. I'd cut him some slack for a bit. We missed a fully firing Romaine today against probably the trickiest opponents yet.

SJ 8 Still glued to his line on set pieces but made 2-3 decent saves, no chance with goal

Furlong 7 Better 2nd half, always an option for the ball out wide

Semi 6 Had a shocker in the first half, littered with mistakes, did improve 2nd half

Bartley 6 Gave away a needless penalty with a blatant handball, which somehow the linesman missed, shaken first half

Ferguson 6 People will link his declining performances to the contract situation but the last few games his levels have certainly dropped

Sawyers 5 Bit of a worry for me, started the season so well but levels have dropped quite considerably for me the past 5-6 games, not incisive with his passing, too many sideways passes and well documented he offers nothing defensively, Barry can’t be far off a start IMO

Livermore 7 Worked his socks off today, driving force 2nd half for me

Edwards 6 Thought he was OK today, stick a little bit underserved IMO, think Slav got it wrong tak8ng him and Phillips off, lost all our threat out wide

Pereira 7 Some of his touches were sublime today, just slightly off with the final ball, still our biggest threat, some player

Phillips 6 Another so so performance from Matt, looks a little low on confidence

HRK 7 Held the ball up well, worked hard as always

Subs

Austin 6 Little impact, couldn’t get on the end of a couple of good balls into the box late on

O Shea 7 Thought he looked comfortable and played well, do hope Hegazi is back involved soon though as when on form we know he’s a top player for us

Krovinovic 6 Tidy enough but brought on for wrong player IMO

Not a bad point against a slick Brentford outfit, Barnsley will be very tough, In decent form and playing a diamond which could cause our shape some problems, need to raise our levels again

We looked knackered tbh we were 2nd to everything for most of the game hadn't got to usual urgency or incisivness as earlier 4 of the Last 5 games have been well below par but we have still got results, I just wonder how long we can keep doing this without performance levels improving.

I've been critical of Furlong in the past but I thought he was head and shoulders above any other Albion player today
