He was 16 eleven years ago. 230 appearances one of the better teams in Europe not bad at all.

Arsenal get further in the cups and always play in Europe so there's more rotation.

You can have Billy Jones who played first team football from the age of 17 in the lower leagues, or you can have Kieran Gibbs who signed a good contract at a top club at a similar age, which kept him on the bench a lot of the time. Both have their merits. I think we are now at a point where we should seek quality rather than quantity. "Games played" is not the only measure of worth.
