The how big can we be? Delusions of grandeur thread

Currently 8th, positive vibe, perhaps more money for new players. Can we ever break above 7th or even retain top ten? Could we expand the attendances (realistically)?

Id there are pricing structure changes (but keep kids for a quid v 'lesser' clubs) and expand the ground to 35k. Otherwise it wold be a challenge.

I don't think so all we can do now is build a squad in depth to retain 8th to 10th position and be able to have a good cracking at the two domestic cups

Attendances not really,26/27 perhaps, Burnley when they were a top outfit in the 60s,  had the lowest attendances in the old First div. Small town.

We are in a unique position of strength which should be used to further the fan base. We need several years like this though to really push on and let's hope Villa and Wolves woes continue.

When looking at it realistically, we are a seasoned prem team that should be boinging around in the mid-table league 8-14. I agree that we would need a couple of seasons along with this one, in consistently top 10 position to strengthen the squad further and attract players.

As you quite rightly say spandua - this should be utilised to pack out the Hawthorns week in week out.

Not sure why it's delusions of grandeur (apart from this who seem to love clinging to some misconceived "little Albion" tag). Top 6 looks out of reach but 8th place is more than achievable. Historically it's about where we sit.
