Some of them yes and some of them no - another referendum would put the withdrawal on hold and potentially remove the need for the withdrawal agreement entirely.

And even then that still had us withdrawing would have involved renegotiating the withdrawal agreement with the agreed vote in mind.

As it stands it doesn't matter anyway because parliament, and in fact the country, is so split on what we want it is a logistical nightmare. What does frustrate me is the politicking around the subject - now is not a time for leadership changes or elections.

It's all very well berating MPs, but who put them there ?

The problem comes from the closeness of the referendum result and a subsequent General Election which (not by design) mirrored that close division in the country.

Possibly the conclusion to be drawn is that in a representative parliamentary democracy it is perhaps unwise to hold referendum, particularly referendum where the result is going to be very close.

Well yes, that's a given. In parliamentary democracies referenda should only really be used if the representatives can't decide and not as an internal mevhamech for solving through internal divisions of a party. But the failings in our system have been evident since the People's Budget and that was 110 years ago now, yet nothing has been fixed.
