Surely the bubble must burst one day? It seems bizarre that a global industry can exist with such ever-increasing debts.

This is the top ten, although most of Chelsea's is owed to Abramovitch.

  • 1.  Chelsea  £1.3 billion.

  • 2.  Barcelona £1.06 billion.

  • 3.  Real Madrid  £802 million

  • 4.  Tottenham Hotspur £604 million

  • 5,  Manchester United £474.1 million.

  • 6.  Juventus £421 million

  • 7.,  Inter Milan £410.3 million

  • 8.  Newcastle United £384 million

  • 9.  Brighton and Hove Albion £279 million

  • 10. Atletico Madrid £341.8 million

Ah, but Brighton are a club with vision and therefore a club to aspire to for the likes of us.

Or, much like Huddersfield once were, they have an owner with big pockets who has sunk in a lot of money into the club. When the owner gets bored, I doubt their current position will be sustainable. Just as Huddersfield fans have discovered.

Except with the prior written approval of the Board, during the Season a Club shall
not enter or play its senior men’s first team in any competition other than:
L.9.1. the UEFA Champions League;
L.9.2. the UEFA Europa League;
L.9.3. the F.A. Cup;
L.9.4. the F.A. Community Shield;
L.9.5. the Football League Cup; or
L.9.6. competitions sanctioned by the County Association of which it is a member.

The above is taken from the premier League rule book ,not sure
if they have actually broken any rules as they said ESL would start in season 22/23
one for the lawyers I think.

From what I understand they all entered into a contract for the ESL so that would be in breach.

How the ESL contract unravels is another issue.

I hope the 14 clubs have the balls to impose maximum sanction kick them down to the Vanarama and if there is a legal battle let it take as long as us getting our Louis Barry money
