It's sad - hopefully they can reform in some way so the people can have a club. Until then they'll have to be content with Beer & Sex & Chips n Gravy.

Sad, saw them play Kiddy Harriers several times, also remember us playing Chester City there when Chester had no ground. Drew 1 - 1, think Burgess scored for us.
Personnally, I think football in England needs looking at, who are these people, like the one mentioned in the article , who buy clubs, sometimes for £1, but take on debts etc ? Apparently, Torquay United are in the same predicament. No doubt others are also. Will we end up with just 2 divisions as small clubs can`t survive? Can`t see Prem clubs helping out.

They’ve been verging on bankruptcy for years - non stop financial issues.

They were a non-league club surviving in the league with a non-league fan base and it’s caught up with them. Terrible for anyone associated with them Sad

"who are these people" exactly

High time the tax authorities investigated these people (properly). Convicting a few of these criminals/chancers in the courts would probably raise a few million for the exchequer

The EFL have got to be looked into and investigated, the level of incompetence is mind boggling and they're clearly not doing enough to deal with financial misconduct. This has been a long time coming for Macclesfield, I'm honestly surprised this happened after they were relegated.

Time to rebrand League Two along with the National Conference into League Two North and League Two South perhaps. This would give the opportunity to some bigger clubs that have lost their way in the Conference and would also result in more local derbies

There are too many clubs unfortunately for our game it's just not financially viable anymore ...its a shame the small clubs are folding and communities upset but they will form again somehow .
