Only guitarist Andy Scott is still with us, now.

Wig Wam Bam was the first record I ever bought. Followed by many more Sweet singles in subsequent years.

It’s sad that Steve has now gone to join Mick and Brian. As you say, that leaves Andy, who I wish would dispose of the silly wig he’s taken to wearing in recent years.

Action was the first single I ever owned. I loved the Sweet. Strung Up is still one of my prized possession albums.

They never looked a particularly happy bunch though, and obviously the rivalries continued to the end. A shame. Great musicians and some quality songs.

RIP Steve.

Sweet epitomised the 70's. God awful clothes and hair but absolute banging tunes. Blockbuster was one of the first 45's I got. RIP another loss

R.I.P. Steve - many of us remember your high pitched mumbled contribution on "Blockbuster"

I suppose he'll have been given the last rites.

I just don't have a clue what to do at this news.

Hell Raiser
Ballroom Blitz
Blockbuster
Wig Wag Boom

Great memories from my childhood.
