There's a good reason for that. Most of the usual suspects on both sides of the house are uber-Remainers. Most of them hate us for undermining their plot to outsource sovereignty (and thus blame) to the EU. I've met a lot of polticians in my life. Very few of them seem to want the power to run the country, they're happy to manage, but lead? Good God no.

The most depressing aspect of this for someone of my generation is that I first became enthused by conviction politicians, great orators, men and women of character, wit and will. I'm not merely referring to my heroes Dear Margaret and Ronald Reagan, but Babara Castle, Tony Benn, Denis Healey, Enoch Powell & Peter Shore.
