I think 911 was a couple of days after the 1 - 5 Germany game.

The game was on 1st September.

For me the 4-1 was better than the 1-5. Incredibly that pretty awful German side got to the WC Final a year later but they weren't anywhere near as good a side as the Dutch team we beat in '96.

Also tatically we were so much better under Venables than we were with Erickson's rigid adherence to 442.

Loved Euro '96. I was 15. Great kit, great team. God I thought it was our year...

Spot on, Venables changed tactics in the swiss game. Seemed a manager who if something wasnt working would change it.
