It's just my decision, based on the fact we've been locked down for 2 months and inevitably there will be a demand for beauty spots. What gets my goat though is the councils saying the toilets are closed. FFS, get them open! It's not deterring anyone and will simply lead to either anti-social behaviour, or crowding at anywhere that is open. As I say, I won't be going anywhere soon and that's my decision, I don't like the environment where everyone is a policeman.

The Long Mynd is now partly opened up - including the toilets, but not the café/shop.

Knowing what it can be like in normal circumstances at bank holidays when the weather is decent we'll be giving it a miss anyway, but it might be an option on a midweek day in a couple of weeks time. I think you're right about allowing the pent up post-lockdown demand to subside for a while. The good thing about CMV is that once you're parked up you can head away from the crowds and if you're making a day of it they'll be thinned out by the time you get back down.

"Three people were injured after jumping off cliffs."
I'll leave that with you....

Update TJ: bumped into somebody earlier whose daughter lives in Much Wenlock; apparently both it and Church Stretton have been heaving all through the bank holiday week. Glad we decided to stay local for a while longer.

My father in law is 81, had a stroke a few years ago, is obese and on warfarin. His wife is older and has dementia.
Last couple of weeks his attitude to the virus has become utter ambivalence. Finds it laughable when my wife social distances and thinks she’s OTT.
Unfortunately the wishy washy attitude of the government has had a huge knock on effect.
Utterly millions will really drop their guard.

And I thought mass gatherings weren’t allowed.

But why are people protesting in London???!

Shirley they’d be better off protesting about something relevant in the UK, such as the wife of the American diplomat who killed the motorcyclist and then left the country and won’t return to face charges and the US won’t deport her.

Cheers, fella. TBF, I've pretty much decided to simply sit it out for a month or so.  It totally defeats the object of hill walking when you're struggling to park, then pushing through hordes, and to cap it all, you can't get a pint and a pie at the end. Not being judgemental at all, I understand people are busting to get out but I just can't be doing with the hassle.
