Without all of the usual defend the govt, attack the govt bullshit that goes on. Look beyond the story to see the smoke and mirrors from this Teflon individual, he went to Durham when he could have gone to other relatives in London, he could have even asked their nanny to care for the child, or if they didn’t have one, hire one.
What is concerning is those that will spring to his defence and it all gets lost in clauses and subsections whilst he doesn’t care because he doesn’t care about anything. The current leadership haven’t got the bollox to deal with himso start quoting about the safety of a toddler and the love of a parent.
Bullshit bought and swallowed

It’s truly shocking the lengths this cabal of charlatans are going to to defend the indefensible. If only they had been as quick to react to the unfolding pandemic as they are to protect an unelected and unaccountable advisor who wields so much power and influence. Ironic given the previous bullshit by the same people regarding taking back control from the unaccountable elite.

Tried to give us as much slack to the Govt as possible in this situation - it is one not of their making, and given that it is an entirely new virus, it is inevitable that there would be a lot of learning needed to be done on the hoof, and inevitable given that things will have been said and done that in hindsight will have been seen to be a mistake.
However today's performance by the Govt is beyond anything that is acceptable. The original decision making of Cummings was wrong, I have sympathy with him for the predicament he and his wife found themselves, but nevertheless he did the wrong and for someone in his position he should have resigned.
The Govt's response to the revelation of Cumming's error has been far worse than the original offence. It is a slap in the face for the millions of us who have kept to the rules . In particular to those parents who became ill, who had young children and stayed at home as they were asked to do. Rubbing salt in the wounds is the excuse given by some Cabinet members that Cummings did what any good parent would have done, the implication of that being those of us who followed the rules could be seen as 'bad' parents.
In my view the Govt today had a decision to make would they seek to uphold their social distancing policy or would they seek to save the career of one of their senior policy advisers. We now know what they think is more important.

What you will see come out of this is that he simply doesn’t care what you think. If that doesn’t tell you more than anything about this government then nothing will.
Time to wake up folks

Johnson is nothing without Cummings and he knows it, his awful cabinet knows it and those in the media still trying to defend the indefensible know it. They have bent the rules that others have had to abide by to protect one person at the risk of undermining trust in the entire government and scientific advice. Strange as very worrying times we live in.
It's a hard one derek for me was into un ethical of course it was but if he thought it was the best action for the safety of his child it's a no brainer.......you and me would do the same ...would you want the sack from your job for protecting your family I suspect no .......it looks bad but if he thought it was the best for his family who are we to pass judgement.
