RE: England game - Albionmad - 10-11-2019

These last 2 games have told the world what is England's Achilles heel. The defence.
There are no obvious solutions. Stones is an accident waiting to happen as is Walker and they both play for one of England's best 2 clubs.

Sorry but next summer we might at best make the quarters . But as soon as we come up against the Dutch, Germans, Italians or Spanish it'll be lights out

People are desperate for it.

We’ve not played well tonight and we’ll most likely be beaten. It happens sometimes, hardly the end of the world.

Away to a decent, if not great team. Think we have been getting a little too confident recently too.

On current form England shouldn’t fear any of the sides you mention above.

A wake up call that will hopefully do us more good than harm.

RE: England game - TartanRug - 10-11-2019

Lost count of the number of times Henderson gave the ball away, wasn't the only one though

RE: England game - Kit Kat Chunky - 10-11-2019

They should call up Nathan Ferguson Big Grin

RE: England game - Remi_Moses - 10-11-2019

We have been getting a little carried away with our performances of late.
Maybe we needed this reminder, we didn't play badly but we are disjointed.
I feel we have good players, but not a well balanced team atm.

Agree, although England weren't great tonight, Those countries mentioned aren't exactly looking great.

What?????

All of those teams are on an upward curve, England are flat track bullies. We've had it easy in qualifiers in recent years only to come up short in tournaments

Our semi final in 2018 was down to plotting a way through the earlier rounds only to go out to a tactically superior side in Croatia.

Defensively for several years we've been naive and been exposed in tournament football.

I can see history repeating itself. I don't blame Southgate, he can only work with what he has available. His best hope is heroic failure.

And for the record my thinking is not based on tonight's result.

Germany have looked ropey for the last couple of years, the Dutch and Italians failed to qualify for the last tournament and the Spanish are nowhere near the force they were.
