Because otherwise Mooy would not have signed the new contract, similar to Rondon with us last season. The difference being Mooy signed a three year deal so has a higher resale value.
You may find the manager had little say in this.

When ypu keep seeing these names linked whenever another manager is sacked then i think we did very well in persuading SB to come to our place .
