His style of football has all but died since less and less players are bought up with it. His man management skills are out dated and he is just generally an unpleasant human being if his record in court is anything to go by.

You'd have thought his last few months with us and his time at Boro would have proved he is finally extinct.

We appointed him for very negative reasons, and it didn't end well. Other clubs will see positives in him, but it reflects on their "risk-averse" approach. I guess he will never fail spectacularly, nor will he ever get the same level of abuse that was heaped on Barmy Bobby Gould, Graham Taylor and various others who at times openly played cynical and unlovely football. Sad for football.

Semi-serious question...

Whenever managers are talked about, invariably the 'dinosaur British manager' line appears. Are there any dinosaur foreign managers as well, or is it just that we don't hear of them because their doing the rounds abroad?

Poor Wednesday though.

Yes, good point!

Nuno plays exactly the same as Pulis watching their game yesterday...…...but with better quality players at his disposal

In a nutshell yes.

Plenty of managers do the rounds in Italy and Spain, although Italian football tends to be a totally different beast with managers having a set style due to their form of teaching and generally being separated from the results they preside over, and in Spain the massive disparity in finances means its less of a risk to drop between the divisions so more managers get opportunities from lower divisions. The existence of B-sides also allows managers to learn without the pressure of results.

But, go to any country and you’ll find a handful of wily older managers with 10-average jobs behind them still getting chances...

They were up against Man City. Every team looks like a Pulis team against Man City.

Although to be fair, he is a defensive coach, which is why he'll never get a big job.

Puel is a foreign 'dinosaur' every club he has managed the fans are delighted to see him go.
