Set to join for the rest of the season as first team coach.

RE: Appleton - 4-hero - 04-26-2019

This club seems to think it owes him a living for some bizarre reason?

Or Shan requested him?

I doubt for one minute Shan has the power to make those decisions

To request him? Of course he can request him, whether not he gets him is another matter.

A highly thought of coach, Appleton, failed miserably bar at Oxford as a manager.

He lost his career in a training ground accident at Albion's less than perfect training facility (at the time). IF that is a reason the club feel they owe him (and with Jenkins at the helm, that's highly unlikely) it would hardly be a bizarre reason.

More likely Shan needs help, he's available and has got pretty decent coaching experience

Well this is absolute bollocks.

Portsmouth were in administration when he managed then - anyone with a brain knows that an incredibly difficult thing to manage, when your players aren't even being paid, it is hard to motivate. The club wanted him to stay.

Blackpool he resigned after a couple of months where he did fine, again Blackpool was a basket case of a club as has been shown in the years since he was there.

Blackburn again he was there for 5 minutes, awful owners.

He did a great job at Oxford. Got to the EFL trophy final twice, got promoted and almost got them in the league one play offs

Did I read somewhere that Jenkins rates him??

I think it might be what this squad needs in the very short term. I reckon he won't take any shit (Shakespeare has the same reputation), and whilst that might not be a good long term solution, it might just see us over the line. We can then take stock in the summer for next season.
