Edwards selection yesterday - Hopalong - 03-17-2019 Something of a masterstoke by Shan! Where on earth did he pluck that from? Inspired! Murphy was shite on Wednesday so I'm not surprised he was dropped - personally I'd have dropped him out of the 18 to really make a point. Montero has looked bright and creative in his cameos and at QPR. Leko, just don't know what's happening with him - I feel he needs a run in the side but difficult with the pressure we're under as he's not disciplined enough defensively. If we don't go up, this current batch of academy starlets will be given their head next season I guess. RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Statto - 03-17-2019 Where he will have pulled it from is working with him from a very young age. Agree it was a master stroke. Produced a brilliant cross first half which would have been an easy header for 1-0 had Gayle not slipped. Contrast his goal with Leko, who would’ve gone back to beat the first man again rather than going for the jugular. Great to see. RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Three Degrees - 03-17-2019 Leko when he came on v Ipswich did all the hard work by beating his marker but as a habit of having to beat him again , also has very quick feet but he looks blinkered when having to look up to find a pass . RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Stratfordbaggie - 03-17-2019 Deserved his chance, was by far the best of the younger players during preseason but for some reason never really allowed the chance to shine in the first team RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Cuzer - 03-17-2019 (03-17-2019, 01:25 PM)Three Degrees Wrote: Leko when he came on v Ipswich did all the hard work by beating his marker but as a habit of having to beat him again , also has very quick feet but he looks blinkered when having to look up to find a pass . The biggest issue with his development has always been his final ball, as you say the ability to beat a man is top notch but he often picks or chooses the wrong end product Edwards came on loads at Exeter, Leko needs a run of 30 games somewhere to develop his game further, the talent is there Cuzer RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Hopalong - 03-17-2019 (03-17-2019, 02:36 PM)Cuzer Wrote:(03-17-2019, 01:25 PM)Three Degrees Wrote: Leko when he came on v Ipswich did all the hard work by beating his marker but as a habit of having to beat him again , also has very quick feet but he looks blinkered when having to look up to find a pass . Maybe Cov or Walsall? RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Cuzer - 03-17-2019 Anywhere where he's playing regularly I'd say, Bristol City was probably a little too soon for him although he had his moments but yes, for me he needs to learn the art of playing week in, week out to improve his decision making Personally I think he's done OK in his cup outings and odd cameo this season but playing once a month etc won't help him develop, we have some great talent coming through but only games will improve them to the required level IMO Cuzer RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Tom Joad - 03-17-2019 Re Leko. Agree, he needs to go out on loan. His ability on the ball is amazing but appears to have absolutely no vision. Edwards does look a great prospect and I think Murphy has just about annoyed everyone with his lack of heart and effort. Credit to Shan for some brave selections. RE: Edwards selection yesterday - Statto - 03-17-2019 Leko did ok second half at Brighton but was still found wanting on end product. First half he was beyond shocking and lost the ball every time he had it. If anyone other than an academy product had produced that display they would have had pelters. RE: Edwards selection yesterday - HeathAyIt - 03-17-2019 I'd be surprised if Leko makes it in top 2 divisions. Doesnt seem to have come on at all in 3 seasons, which is a great shame, as he is as good as anyone ive seen at Albion at going past a man, including the very best. If his decision making hasnt improved by now, I doubt it will. Wish I shared Cuzers optimism but I think its an ingrained issue. |
