What is the opposite of support? - YamYam - 05-10-2020

Biased hypothetical - To minimise risk, us and dirty Leeds immediately go up with those in the playoff spots having the usual mini tournament to decide the 3rd (no other Championship matches played). However with the Premier league playing the remainder of fixtures, I think I would watch every single Vile match in the hope they get spanked by whatever opposition they faced.

Of course, this is the stuff of lockdown dreams.

Isn’t that just supporting whoever Villa are playing?

In a temporary sense, I suppose you are right Duffers!

There would be no greater justice than us replacing them in the Prem.

Has anyone worked out the weighted points at the bottom of the PL to see if the vile would be relegated. on this basis? i.e games at home remaining * points achieved per home game this season Plus the same for away games.

Knowing those jammy bastards, they’d scrape it by the smallest margin possible.

Would the answer to the original question be 'bra-less'?

But taking home and away matches average and games left, all have 5 home left and 4 away after Villa's game in hand from Brighton downwards and Bournemouth, Watford and Villa all have 17 of their points so far at home, but West Ham 15 with more away points (and Brighton 18 at home but 29 pts, the others 27)

From my calculations, Brighton  well out of it ending on 38.07 points

Villa get 34.98

Watford and Bournemouth matched on 35.73

But with less of a home points skew, but more home games left, West Ham get 35.55 and slip into the bottom 3

So that would be fun if that's how they do it and I've worked it out right - explains Brady et al pushing for a void

Anyway the Vile are down if they do relegation as normal and finish the season with no more games played - can't see a way around it for them.

Your post made me laugh and at the same time slightly worried in case you had made a mistake in your calculations and so have been searching the internet to see if it had been calculated.  And here is the final weighted PPG PL table
